A Clinical Trial Ambassador is always a member of a registered Patient Organization and educated about clinical research.

Clinical Trial Ambassadors have a specific role in Patient Organizations. They comply with a clear set of rules and act according to their registered Patient Organization legal framework.

Each drug during its development was in a clinical trial phase. I remember a lot of my dear patients who were diagnosed with lung cancer and without any therapy their only hope was to participate in a clinical study. Today after 18 years these people are still with us and living life with lung cancer. Clinical studies best demonstrate the power and strength of knowledge, represent hope and change history.

I have been working for more than 20 years in the topic area of colon cancer and therefore I am highly motivated - also in my free time - to support patients in answering their questions. Therefore I wanted to become a CTA and I am very proud of joining this great team.

I joined the course about CTA because I lacked the required knowledge to properly disseminate the information amongst my patients' community, particularly that 

1. the officials in charge have not done anything to inform the patients about clinical trials and 2. equally important, the Pharma Industry does not seem to be very much interested in running clinical trials in Romania

As such, the subject is more or less taboo and the only prevailing information is related to the negative consequences related to CT.
